There are times when I am called to pay attention to depict what I see and experience.
I often paint in series and love to explore a variety of mediums in acrylic, watercolor, photography and mixed media. I enjoy vibrant imagery that is thought provoking and heartfelt. The creative process is woven with spiritual and life experiences.
A sense of place, both real and imaginary is important. Images both representational and abstract are painted directly while others are done in layers. Over the years plein aire painting is an interest. I love the feeling of the outside elements of the wind, sun and rain. This past year I have been struck by the beauty at my back door — the sky, sunrises and sunsets with light rays coming through the clouds like a "light–show". I love to travel and paint. For one year I lived in my van and did a project "Art and Healing: People Helping People" celebrating the 75th anniversary of nursing in British Columbia depicting people within their environments. As I traveled I had shows and gave talks about art and creativity, weaving threads with my areas of interest in a variety of disciplines including Nursing, Art Therapy, and Creativity and Healing. I am interested in the aspect of healing and art and work privately as an art therapist with groups and
individuals. My intention as an artist is to grow, learn and explore new ideas and imagery.
