Kit Croucher
"My art often defies categorization. I create images from imagination and guided imagery. My landscapes are often mystical and reflect my love of trees, hills, lakes and valleys. An art image can start as a flat painting on wood and become an assemblage. Along the way, I may photograph an image in the creative process and let take on a digital life of its own.
Sometimes the role of the artist is to deal with unpleasant truths. When something inside me needs to speak out, I use my art to communicate what I feel about issues addressing the environment and man’s insistence on committing war.
Artists books is where I feel all my arts parts come together — graphics, art and words. It is my gift to the reader who becomes interactive with my art — viewing books as sequential art.
I love my Macintosh computer and often scan my sketches and prints to work on them as digital art where they grow in multiple layers and inter–related images."
