Mary Hunter grew up the daughter of a three war veteran army officer. She is widely traveled and familiar with a variety of cultures and customs. She maintains a studio and gallery in Fulton, Texas. She is best known for her earthy, textural and symbolic mixed media works and has gallery representation in Texas.

 

Mary Hunter received her degree in Education and Art from Incarnate Word University in San Antonio, Texas and graduate studies in art at Texas A&M of Kingsville and Corpus Christi, Texas. She taught school for 10 years and is an experienced art museum docent.

 

As a member of the Society of Layerists in Multi—Media, she attends world wide meetings and exhibitions annually. She is a member of the Rockport Art Center, Texas Maritime Museum and a board of trustee member at the Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi, Texas.
