Brother/Sister Compounds
My five-year-old granddaughter and I decide to build Rock Star/Doctor Barbie a house out of blocks and legos. It is a beautiful house filled with shoes, purses, accessories and more accessories. The shoes I must say are shocking to behold. Surely a human could not walk in them. The back of the house has a hot tub and pool with lego flowers all around. Tiny Fairy Princess sleeps quietly by the pool and all is well.
About 12 inches from the Barbie Compound is Lego Land. An invisible line exists between the two compounds; the brother/sister line, “don’t you dare cross this line,” or the Berlin Wall.
Lego Land is filled with a frightening assortment of creatures and weapons. Unfortunately Hulk is wandering on the edge of Lego Land and sees the sleeping Tiny Fairy Princess. He cannot resist her smallness and beauty and does the unthinkable, crosses the line and kidnaps her. Chaos ensues and the Barbie compound suffers much damage. It looks like war is inevitable.
Mediators intervene and convince the brother to help fortify the Barbie Compound so they will be protected from Lego Land. Now, a Special Forces Commando figure stands guard at the back door and storm troopers line the wall with blaster pistols and light sabers. Gold Ninja supervises them all.
A line has been crossed.
Whew! Who would have thought playing dolls is so exciting.
